Meals 5/11-5-14

So, sorry! For the lack of posting lately, it's been busy!

Hope everyone is well!

Here are lasts week meals:

Monday:

Baked pasta, rolls, and broccoli

Tuesday:

Grilled chicken, couscous and fruit (that dark lump is bbq sauce)

Wednesday:

Meatballs, quesadilla, and fruit

Thursday:

Plain pasta with butter, chicken nuggets and broccoli

Friday I babysat for them so I took the kids out for hamburgers. We went to Hopdoddys...ever been? Man that place is so good! It's serious competition for the Shake Shack...who I'm still trying to get to open a location in Dallas!!

Anywho! Gotta go! This TENS unit is putting me to sleep!

I know I sound like a broken recorder but again! Please send me your kids favorite recipes, I'm always looking for new things to feed the girls!

Be safe! Stay cool! Adios!

Weekday Meals

So in my effort to feed the girls more nutritional meals I've been taking pictures of it to document it on the internets. I feel like since I know they will go on a blog post they need to look pretty lol even though maybe like 1 person reads this blog.

Anywho I give you this weeks meals:

Monday I did not feed them dinner.

Tuesday-Crock pot sausage and chicken, brown rice with small amount of soy sauce, roll and fruit. Like I've mentioned before little bee doesn't like fruit or veggies so we still give her fruit pouches.

Wednesday-Grilled cheese, hot dog (Hebrew Nation 97% fat free if you must know), and fruit.

Thursday-Corn dog, Mac and cheese, and fruit.

Friday-whole wheat pasta and sauce, roll, green beans and fruits.

This week for some reason I was feeling uninspired and tired. I realized I feed them a lot of sausage product but one week won't harm them. As you can see they eat a ton of fruit and little lady LOVES green beans but I try not to make them too often so she won't get bored.

Anyway I'm still looking for dinner/meal ideas! If your kids have a favorite let me know!

Adios! Thanks for reading!

Spring Break-without a break

So spring break for the school kids was this past week. Little man is of course then only one out of my 3 that goes school. This week he went out of town with him mom to Cancun. The girls of course have no idea what "spring break" so they didn't care but we took advantage of my friend being off to go on adventures everyday. It was honestly tiring since I'm just now getting over my respiratory virus.

Spring break week my bosses were living with my guy bosses parents, out in the country, because the floors were being done. Anyway so Monday we didn't do much, just hang out in grandmas house.

Tuesday we (my bff and I) took the girls to the Perot. Seriously if you live in the Dallas area please check this museum out, it really is top notch and worth every penny. I am fortunate that my bosses pay for a yearly family membership.

Wednesday we ventured out to chuck e cheese...with the rest of the families in the DFW area. The place was packed!! The girls have never gone so I was curious to see how they would do. It honestly wasn't bad, except the girls were terrified of the mouse! So much that little lady wanted to go home. Except for that the girls did awesome and the pizza there is really good! Little bug was a little obsessed, like a little old lady, to the Plinko game. She kept wanting to put coins in the machine, she couldn't get enough! "More peas more" We laughed so hard because in her first try, she won 100 tokens! She of course had no idea what was going on!

We ended up with 399 tokens and both girls got Frozen tattoos, plastic bracelets, some stickers and some other random trinkets.

Thursday we had an adventure day in downtown. We started by having brunch at a yummy place called Yolk. My friend and I had this in Chicago and we were so excited to know they were opening one here.

After Yolk we walked to the Dallas Museum of Art, where we participated in story time. The girls loved it! After the museum we walked to Klyde Warren Park and the girls really enjoyed playing in their tree house and jungle gym type thing.

We had a cupcake before leaving and the girls napped all the way home.
It was such a fun day! I was so grateful that my friend hung out with us, she is so good with the girls and the girls love her!

I'm happy to be going back to our normal routine this week.

So how did you spend your spring break?

That's it for now, stay safe! Adios!

Winter Wonderland in March, in Texas

That's right folks! We had about 3.5 inches of snow here in Texas, like actual fluffy snow!!
It was beautiful!

At the beginning it looked like nothing and a little sad but it piled up quickly and then it was wonderful!

Which then of course meant the whole city shut down. No school for the kids for a total of 3 days. We are from the south so we LOVE snow but we are afraid of it! We don't down own the proper shoes and tires and whatnot to be in it. Regardless it was fun and beautiful watching it fall and then we couldn't get rid of it fast enough :)

Anyway I'm battling a respiratory virus right now. I've had fever for about 3 days and a cough that sounds like bronchitis but isn't. So it's been oodles of fun. I'm going back to work tomorrow as I've been fever free for 24 hrs now and everyone at work is sick as well (I actually blame the baby, little B). I have a follow up with my Dr on Friday to make sure my lungs are still clear (fingers crossed) so that I can resume "any activity that resembles a work out" because apparently even going up stairs is a workout and I live on the second floor! BTW quick shout out to my Dr who is incredible!! I absolutely adore her and she really is the best Dr! If you live in Dallas please check out Dr. Stock,  although she's getting quite popular and i dont know how I feel about that.

So it's spring break here, little man is off to the beach with his mom and I'm too sick to do anything fun with the girls but I think we might venture out to the Perot tomorrow. Will try to take as many pictures as possible. Anyways hope all is well with everyone!

Adios!
All spelling mistakes are my own.

Ah Fall....

Fall is here! Kinda....we live in Texas so it's springish weather right now. Earlier in the month we had a really warm day, with a high of like 90 or something so we took advantage and went swimming!

The new house has a heated pool and hot tub but we mostly have been using the hot tub since heating the entire pool would be incredibly expensive  and it would take forever. The hot tub is perfect though, the girls enjoy bobbing around in there and I like sitting and doing nothing while watching them play.

Life has been going well...we have been very busy living and enjoying the new house and it's perks. The girls are really enjoying all the space and so I am, we aren't on top of each other anymore. The only down side is that now we actually have to drive to pick up Little Man from school.

This week I have been fighting a severe sinus infection and an upper respiratory thing. I've been on a heavy dose of antibiotics and steroids. I never had a fever so I still came to work and we basically did this-->

Yes America, I let the girls watch endless episodes of Dora and friends and destroy the play room. Which by the way, I had no idea Dora was all grown up!

*yes I know Little Lady is wearing her mother shirt, we didn't go out to public that day
*yes I know the "play room" looks anything but destroyed but this isn't the play room, it's the tv room lol

Anyway, thankfully I am all done with the meds and I'm feeling almost 100%.

We have been battling with some 8yr old attitude here lately. I guess that's normal but it's annoying. Thankfully Little Man is starting to understand that 1) I am not his personal maid, if I said pick up your backpack and shoes I mean it! Or there will be consequences, I'm done being Miss Nice Pants and 2) the world unfortunately doesn't revolve around him, period.

There is some moments where I find him quite cute, like when he is trading his Pokemon cards. Which are all the rage apparently in 3rd grade. He seems to be "da man" to go to. Everyday after school he is shuffling!

Hopefully he will get over the rut he's in soon, which I blame in his mother being practically non existent. But that's another story for another day.

I'm looking forward to the cooler weather, I'm done with the warmth. I hope it's nice and cool when I take the girls to our yearly Arboretum outing to see the pumpkin village!

Peace!
